Responses to the articlesI found the Indian system of Solfège, called sorgum, is very interesting. I’ve read a book before regarding the different ways that people used for indicating different note, in short—distinct musical notation. The most popular musical notation nowadays is called the Modern Staff Notation, which people use different clefs in between five parallel lines to denote the relative degree between the notes. In ancient China, Chinese people used traditional Chinese words to represent the note, while in Europe some people used animal patterns to denote the pitch. Personally, I believe the invention of different system of musical notation was influenced by differing culture. I’m also interested in what is the specific frequency of specific notes in different musical notation system, as well as the scale system and whether do they have accidentals or not.
